INTRODUCTION TO THE PICTURE ARCHIVE
The JCU Picture Archive provides access to selected digital images from various JCU Collections. At present there are more than 600 photos online including 50 photos from the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre collection in Cairns and 300 plus photographs from the North Queensland Collection held in Townsville. There are also around 120 photographs of the Nelly Bay Harbour development on Magnetic Island from the Nelly Bay Collection held in Townsville.
The archive can be searched using simple or advanced search options via the JCU web site or through Picture Australia. Picture Australia allows users to discover heritage and documentary images in real time without needing to know where they are actually located.
